1. Place over the blade of the ice or cross-country skates, and push gently with your fingers on either side to ensure they are parallell with blade
2. Move sharpener back and forth over the full length of the blade

The skate sharpener comes in two variants:

1. Hockeyrör for Hockey skates – sharpens blades between 2.6 and 3.2 mm thickness
2. Långskär for Cross-country skates – sharpens blades between 1.2 and 1.6 mm thickness
